I received a mail:
Hallo Annika!
I have a seven months old daughter, who has begun eating a little customary food. I still breast-feed her. My question to you is: I don’t want to give her “industrial porridge”, I want to make my own porridge, but it’s important that it is nourishing and contains iron. Do you have any suggestion about making a decent porridge myself? Today I make porridge from porridge oats, water, sesame seed milk and a lump of butter.
The sesame seed milk I make from half the quantity of peeled sesame seeds and the other half quantity of sunflower seed which I mix with water. Is it ok from the nourishment point of view for a child or do you have another good suggestion? I believe there are more parents who also want to know. On the Children’s Welfare Center they just reply that it is the “industrial porridge” that it’s the best. I don’t think so. It’s so sickly-sweet like syrup of sugar.

Annika: - Are there any links about baby food? Do you have any tips?
Myself I consider porridge to be a non-desired kind of food. The very porridge consistency consists of starch. Instead you can mince descent food. Minced meat, vegetables with butter and cream, fish. A small piece of bread with a generous layer of butter. If the child licks the butter off the bread we can praise and put on more butter.
